Aside from the fact that customizing ringtones can make mobile phone function better by utilizing its features, mobile phone ringers can do more than that. There are things that these mobile phone ringers can do, but we often neglect it since our main concern is to customize our mobile phones.
Ringtones are not basically for personal reasons. They can serve as promotional materials for some companies including the manufacturer and other businesses. So even if others may not recognize the model or brand of the unit by simply looking at it, they still will be able to recognize it once the signature tone plays.
Another benefit of ringtones is the promotion of the movies and music industry. Yes! Mobile phone melodies are great contributors to the promotion of movies and music either old or new. Movie original sound tracks are converted in to mobile phone ringers and made available for the public to download. Among the greatest movie OST is Mission Impossible which gathered massive amount of download.
On the part of music, songs converted in to mobile phone ringers are now recognized and eligible to receive awards. This was initiated in Canada last April when 60 tunes were able to received awards for gathering the highest amount of downloads. 43 tunes were given the Platinum Award and 17 were recognized with Golden Awards. This action will continue as long as the ringtone industry is alive.
Ringtones are always recognized for economic reasons. They are actually helping the economy through the revenue it collected from downloads. In fact, the industry is believed to come up with $14 Billion in revenue by the end of 2011 and will continue to grow as more and more are in to downloading mobile phone ringers.
During the heat of the controversy of two world leaders, Spain’s King and Venezuela’s President, mobile phone ringtones became a medium of awareness for citizens of both countries. The event resulted to a sudden economic impact when the ringer, compose mainly of the Spain’s King, was able to gather a collection of more than a $1 million in revenue and an estimated download of 500,000. That shows how it contributed a lot to the economy and thus the reason why the industry itself is rapidly growing without us realizing that it will soon hit a bigger margin of profit.
